Unprecedented Growth: Flooring Firm Hits Record Results
A United Kingdom flooring firm based near Radcliffe is experiencing record results due to increasing its export business. James Halstead has broken record ground for growth during the last six months of last year, achieving no less than a nine percent rise in profits (before tax, at least) from July through to December 2010. The flooring firm, which produces numerous types of flooring, including wood flooring ideal for wood floor repairs, found itself experiencing sales of more than a hundred million UK pounds for the first time during an interim period, netting just over a hundred and six million, a rise of no less than fifteen percent in total.
The company’s success is largely down to its export business, with James Halstead shipping flooring off hospitals in Chicago and Libya last year as well as to South African Railways. While sales in their native Britain increased by around three and a half percent, it was nothing compared to their sales increase in countries such as Australia, Germany, and North America. There it grew by as much as twenty-three percent.
“Localised issues have given us problems, but overall, the global marketplace is solid, and we continue at the forefront of commercial flooring specifications on new builds and in refurbishments,” the company says. “Our solid foundation in healthcare and education is renowned, but our products are far more widely installed, and our success in the sports sector continues.”
