Wood Floor Repairs News
The joining of the 20 new members results in the creation of 32 additional recycling centres, making a total of 65 places throughout the country where people can now drop off their old vinyl off-cuts for recycling. While the recycling of wood from wood floors that have needed to be replaced or undergo extensive wood floor repairs, is a commonly accepted practice, vinyl has proven to be slightly more problematic, which is what makes the Recofloor scheme so important.
“Joining Recofloor provides a perfect fit with our existing network across the UK and full membership builds on our commitment to reducing waste to landfill, bringing environmental and economic benefits for all” says the President of The Independent Floorcovering Distributors Association, Paul Carvall.
Jane Gardner, the Project Manager for Recofloor, says, “IFDA’s membership is a very positive step forward for Recofloor as the addition of twenty more drop-off sites will help to increase the volumes of waste flooring collected for recycling.” Gardner adds that members of The Independent Floorcovering Distributors Association were some of the earliest distributors to provide such drop off points and that Recofloor is thrilled that the Association is increasing its support for the scheme.
