What was the job?
We were asked to sand the floors in the Nehru Centre, London.
The centre is part of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
Challenges
Sections of the floors were more stained and damaged than others so we had to focus attention there without creating a dip in the wood.
Work could not take too long so the centre could get back to business.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
After clearing the area of furniture and other obstacles, we sanded the floors and replaced boards where necessary.
When we knew the surface was level and secure, we began the three stage, dust free sanding process and applied lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
The building is now more presentable and the floors more hardwearing. Commercial lacquer will help the floors stay resistant to heavy foot traffic.
