What was the job?
We ventured to Gravesend to sand some floors which had become scuffed over the years.
Challenges
Damage to the floors was more prominent in some areas than others. We also had to ensure no further damage had developed, such as gaps and loose boards.
Areas:
Lounge- 21.2 m2
Entrance hall- 6.3 m2
Time taken:
2 days
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
When we were sure there was no more significant damage and boards that needed to be replaced, we began the three stage, dust-free sanding process.
After buffing and vacuuming the floor, we added a cosmetic gap fill and finished with four coats of lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
After our work, the floor has had years added to its lifespan and the darker tone of the wood compliments the house.
If the owners uphold a care routine, more sanding work should not be required for years to come.
