Some blocks needed to be refitted and one area which needed repair was quite large. Replacing blocks meant they would be a different colour to the rest of the floor and both the sanding and lacquering process had to consider this.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
After relaying the loose blocks, we sanded the surface to achieve even colouring and a level surface. This also removed the previous layer of lacquer which had bubbled.
We the buffed and vacuumed away the excess and applied lacquer to the surface.
During the floor restoration
The results
Sanding the floor fixed the bubbling effect which had developed on the floor. The owners should continue a maintenance routine to preserve both the lacquer and the quality of the wood.
