What was the job?
Blue Tit is a high end chain of salons with several locations across London.
The Clapton salon’s floors were damaged, with several boards needing repairs before we could start sanding.
Challenges
Some of the floors were heavily obstructed by clutter and others had furniture which could not be moved, such as seating.
A few floorboards had become loose over time and had to be nailed down to prevent damage to the sanding machines and provide better results.
Some rooms were small and this made work difficult as we had to manoeuvre the machines.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We had to clear the workspace before inspecting the floors for damage or loose boards.
When we had nailed down and secured all floorboards, we were able to begin sanding. Because there were still some obstacles, we had to be extra careful to avoid any damage.
Basic
maintenance for the parquet floors as they were undamaged so work was more routine. After sanding, buffing and vacuuming, we applied dark stain and lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
Some floors have different stains to prevent everything appearing too uniform and add style to the building. With clearer and smoother floors, the establishment is more inviting to clients and suits the reputation of the company.
The wood will need steady maintenance but should remain at high quality for years.
With over 30 years of experience and 25,000+ floors restored, the Mr Sander® team shares expert tips on wooden floor care, sanding, and restoration. Trusted across the UK, we help homeowners and businesses bring lasting beauty, durability, and warmth to every wooden surface we touch.
