What was the job?
We travelled to Balham to work on kitchen worktops and floors in a residential property.Challenges
A kitchen worktop is trickier to work on than a floor, particularly around the sink. The area was small and we did not want to cause any damage to the fixtures. Worktops and floors require different tools. Areas:Kitchen/diner- 14.6 m2 (Walnut floorboards)
Entrance hall- 8.3 m2
Kitchen worktops- 5.9 linear meters
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
Despite difficulties with space and movement, the sanding process was straightforward. After sanding, we buffed and vacuumed the surfaces.
To finish, we applied one coat of base primer and then three of clear lacquer. We added two coats of worktop oil on the kitchen surfaces.

The results
After sanding, the kitchen surfaces are more hygienic and will be easier to clean in the future. The floor looks like new and will be more resistant to scratches and spills.After we finished the job
