What was the job?
We travelled to East Sheen in the borough of Richmond upon Thames. The floors of a residential property needed maintenance and repairs.
Challenges
Some floorboards needed to be replaced and moved as they were uneven and the gaps would have resulted in sub-par work.
The hearth had to be removed before we started.
Areas:
Landing- 5.7 m2 – pine boards (10.5cm)
Bedroom 1- 11.6 m2
Bedroom 2- 8.8 m2
Bedroom 3- 10.7 m2
Time taken:
3 days
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We allotted two hours for fixing and moving floorboards. We also removed the heart prior to the three stage, dust free sanding process. We filled gaps with a 50/50 mix of slivers and resin to improve cosmetic appeal.
After sanding, the floors were buffed, vacuumed and lacquered.
During the floor restoration
The results
The floors are now more resilient, made stronger after some boards were resecured. The surface is also more level, meaning it is safer for use in a family home.
