What was the job?
A pine wood floor in a New Malden home had been damaged over time and was in need of restorative work.
Challenges
Because the floor had been untreated for some time, there were gaps between the boards which had to be filled before the process was complete.
Area:
Kitchen: 14.00 m2 – Pine Floorboards
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
After sanding, we filled the gaps with a resin mix to provide a fully smooth surface. To remove any excess dust, we buffed and vacuumed the floor before applying a coat of brown mahogany stain.
To finish the job, four coats of lacquer were added to add shine and durability to the wood.
The results
Because of the resin and smooth finish, there are no visible gaps between the floorboards which would give away the age of the floor.
