Floor Sanding Blogs
What was the job?
We journeyed to Bromley for a floor which had taken significant damage.
Challenges
Some areas needed more attention than others, including sections with floorboards which needed to be replaced. Damaged boards slow down work because we cannot sand immediately and have to ensure everything is secure and safe.
Areas:Hallway- 5.5 m2 (original pine floor boards – 170 x 18 mm)
Lounge- 22.9 m2
Time Taken:
4 days
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
Before anything else, we restitched the hearth to cover the hole in the floor. In the lounge, we replaced 4m2 of boards. After these jobs were completed, we were able to start sanding. We used a cosmetics gap fill before buffing and vacuuming the surface.
After a coat of stain, we concluded with four layers of lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
Without holes and gaps, the floor is a lot safer and easier to care for. The room looks more inviting and the floor like new.
Our work was professional and it is not clear where boards already were or where we laid fresh ones.
