What was the job?
Kingston upon Thames is situated within Southwest London and we were happy to travel down to help with some floor sanding.
The floors of a property had become subject to natural wear so needed a little TLC.
Challenges
The work was routine but there were obstacles such as the staircase. Work was required in several rooms, which meant the job could potentially be time consuming.
Areas:
Level 1 landing- 5.1 m2
Bedroom- 14.4 m2
Level 2 landing- 2.5 m2
Bedroom- 12.9 m2
Lounge/kitchen/dining room- 26.6 m2
Level 3 roof top room- 9.9 m2
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
The work required was a simple sanding process, as the owner had cared for the wood. Without the need for repairs, our work was then more efficient.
After buffing and vacuuming away any excess, we applied a coat of dark oak stain before completing the job with four layers of clear lacquer.
The results
With the stain, it looks as though a whole new floor has been fitted. This is coupled with the fact there are no signs of wear after sanding.
Maintaining the high quality should be easily manageable, as the owners had already shown care for the wood.
