Floor Sanding Blogs
What was the job?
We were called to Tower Hamlets to restore the floors in a Massingham Street property.
Challenges
Several floorboards were loose and damaged. We had to fix this before sanding, including some board replacement.
The fireplace was a grand feature within one of the rooms and we had to be careful so as not to damage it.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We inspected the floor and nailed down the boards which were loose but did not need to be replaced. This, as well as some new boards, closed the gaps.
After sanding, buffing and vacuuming, we applied several different stains in small patches on the floor. The owner chose smoked oak, which we then added to the entire surface. The job was completed with lacquer.

The results
The dark tone matches the grand interior in some of the rooms and is far removed from the contemporary style in many homes.
