What was the job?
We carried out maintenance a wood floor in Putney after they had suffered some minor damage over time.
Challenges
The damage to the floor was mostly discolouration and gaps, which were simple to fix. The challenge presented to us was taking care around furniture and fittings. We were also considerate of time as the homeowner did not want us to take too long in the property.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
Before sanding, we fixed gaps between boards to ensure our work was the optimum quality. After this, the sanding process was routine, ensuring we removed the darker colour of the wood and exposed the lighter tone.
We concluded our work with clear lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
The floor looks much better now the wood is a uniform colour. There are also no sizable gaps to ruin the aesthetic.
Now the floor is lighter, it looks more natural and compliments the pale walls.
