What was the job?

The floors in a Maidenhead house needed sanding after being damaged by DIY work carried out in the property.

Challenges

In some rooms, the floors had been splashed with paint after the owner had decorated their home. Sanding was needed to remove the paint but the work had to be even across the entire surface.

Working around bathroom fittings can be awkward as it is not a standard square shape.

What we did

As the damage was cosmetic, we could begin work without nailing down any loose boards or filling gaps.

After sanding, we applied lacquer to provide a sheen but not the full four coats some clients prefer.

The results

Sanding, combined with the previous decorating, has left the whole house inviting and aesthetically pleasing. The overall colour is neutral with nothing clashing. Because of the level sanding, there are no uneven spots within the property as a result of our work.
