Floors in a Gravesend, Kent, home were severely damaged. We were needed to supply new floorboards before sanding and painting the wood.Challenges
As the floor had not been treated, there was significant damage. This extended to some floorboards needing to be completely replaced. Other boards had developed large gaps which had to be filled. Loose floorboards also had to be re-secured. There was a lot of work, which meant it would take a considerable amount of time.Areas:

How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
The first thing we did was address the major repair by supplying and fitting a joist to the ground floor under the stairs and fill with boards area of 2.70 m x 0.70 m. The boards had to be turned in order to match the rest of the room’s existing pattern.
We also supplied and fitted approximately 10 linear meters of new floorboards to replace the extensively damaged ones.
For the remaining floorboards, there were minor repairs such as nailing them down. After this was finished and the surface was level, we were able to begin sanding. Remaining small gaps were filled with a slivers and resin mix.
To finish, the floors were coated with one layer of primer and two layers of solid white floor paint.

The results
The improvements were a success and the floor and there are no signs of the previous extensive damage. Ensuring the floor is solid makes it easier to work on other areas within the room without fear of a floorboard breaking.After we finished the job
