What was the job?
We travelled to Crowborough, East Sussex, to repair the pine floorboards within a home.Challenges
Over time, the floor had become victim to some significant damage. As a result, some boards needed replacing. The hearth needed restitching, which would delay work slightly. Areas:Diner- 15.2 m2 (Pine floorboards)
Time taken: 2 daysHow the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We started by restitching the hearth, ensuring it was level and able to withstand sanding. After that, some boards elsewhere needed repairing or moving. With a good working surface, we started up the sanding machines. After the three stage process, we used a cosmetic gap fill of slivers and resin . To conclude the job, we added a coat of medium oak stain then four layers clear lacquer. The results
With a sanded and stained floor, the property overall is much more presentable. The lacquer should preserve the colour of the stain and keep the wood more resilient against scuffs and scratches. After we finished the job
