What was the job?

We travelled to Crowborough, East Sussex, to repair the pine floorboards within a home.

Challenges

Over time, the floor had become victim to some significant damage. As a result, some boards needed replacing. The hearth needed restitching, which would delay work slightly. Areas:

Diner-  15.2  m2 (Pine floorboards)

What we did 

We started by restitching the hearth, ensuring it was level and able to withstand sanding. After that, some boards elsewhere needed repairing or moving. With a good working surface, we started up the sanding machines. After the three stage process, we used a cosmetic gap fill of slivers and resin . To conclude the job, we added a coat of medium oak stain then four layers clear lacquer.

The results

With a sanded and stained floor, the property overall is much more presentable. The lacquer should preserve the colour of the stain and keep the wood more resilient against scuffs and scratches.
