What was the job?
After years of not being maintained, the floors in a Charlton property were damaged. Gaps and holes had appeared between the boards and they were discoloured.
Challenges
More significant damage than wear, such as holes and large gaps, needed to be fixed before sanding began. If this were not done properly, the floor would be uneven we couldn’t get the right finish.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
As there were some areas without any floorboards at all, we supplied and fitted new ones before continuing to nail down other loose boards. Gaps were filled with resin to create a smooth surface and improve the aesthetics of the floor. The three stage sanding process with dust free machines removed the paint stains and dark colouring.
Lacquer applied after the work means the floor will remain in such good condition for years.
During the floor restoration
The results
Because of our work, the floor is cleaner and presentable. There are no holes which could result in injury and the wood is resistant to damage.
