What was the job?
The parquet floors in an Uxbridge building were in need great of maintenance and sanding. The job required work on three different rooms and a hall. Areas:Office: 9.97 m2
Dining Room: 17.37 m2
Lounge: 23.45 m2
Hall: 6 m2
Challenges
Sanding a parquet floors requires a different process to standard floorboards and we had to consider this before starting work. This is because of the structure of parquet floors, so more care was needed. Some blocks were loose and needed fixing before work began.How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
Before work, we ensured all of the floor was secured and level. When we knew the floors would be nice and smooth and level, we began sanding using our dust free machines, which meant that we didn’t make a mess of the property. After this, we vacuumed the floor to remove any debris before we started the lacquering process.
To finish the job, we used two coats of base prime followed by two coats of clear lacquer.
The results
After levelling, sanding and lacquering the floors, these parquet floors have been restored to their former glory. There was no debris left behind after the work, meaning it was ready to be used as normal immediately after work was completed.
