What was the job?
We were asked to sand the parquet flooring of a home in Camberley, Surrey.
Challenges
Some of the parquet blocks were damaged and loose, so we had to relay them before sanding.
Fixtures such as pipes were close to the floor, meaning they would be close to our machines.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
Some areas needed re-doing completely, so we set to work laying the parquet blocks. We had to match up the pattern with the rest of the floor.
When the floor was complete, we were able to sand without causing damage to the remaining blocks. The work was finished with lacquer to seal in the quality.
During the floor restoration
The results
As well as preserving our work, the lacquer will leave the floor resilient to scratches from furniture and stones in shoes.
The floor looks a lot better now there are not any major damages visible and all areas have blocks.
