What was the job?

A home in Bushey, Hertfordshire had damaged wood floors which needed to be repaired before sanding. A considerable amount of work was needed to get these floors looking great.

Challenges

As this was a project within a residential property, we had to remove obstacles such as furniture to prevent damage during the process.
Sanding around the hearth created a slight issue as spilling over into that area could have damaged the floor and machines. Areas: 

Front bedroom- 9.73 m2 

Back bedroom- 11.70 m2

What we did

We supplied and fit 14 linear meters to patch areas in the front bedroom before continuing to minor repairs and nailing down loose floorboards.

After a three-stage sanding process, we filled gaps with a resin and a wood slivers mix to improve aesthetics and create a smoother surface for the four coats of lacquer.

The results

Because of the resilience provided by maintaining and lacquering, the floors will last for many more years than if they had been left alone.

The wood is also more resistant to the usual scratches caused by things such as moving furniture. And perhaps more importantly, the floors look fantastic!
