What was the job?

We were called to West Wimbledon to repair the floors of a home after they had suffered over time.

Challenges

Working on a small area such as the landing can be tricky because of the size of the sanding machines. Some areas had been covered by carpets, hiding the quality of the boards, and there was also furniture blocking the workspace. Areas: Front bedroom- 15 m2 Back bedroom- 12.3 m2 Landing-  1.3 m2 Time taken: 2 days

What we did 

Before we could begin, furniture and carpet had to be removed. After this, we checked the floor for damage or loose-fitting boards. When we were sure the surface was as smooth as it would get, we began the dust-free sanding process. When the surface had been buffed and vacuumed, we finished with four coats of lacquer.

The results

The overall quality of the floor has been improved by the level surface and the lacquer will preserve our work. With a routine of care from the homeowner, the floor should last for years to come.
