Wood Floors and Stairs Sanding Project in Walthamstow | Mr Sander®

What was the job?

We went to Walthamstow to work on a staircase and several floors within a home.

Challenges

Sanding on and near stairs is dangerous. There was also damage on the landing which had to be fixed. We had to arrange an order for each aspect of the job so we could be efficient and not have to re-do aspects.

What we did

Several loose floorboards had to be secured before we could start sanding, and there were carpet grips which needed to be removed. With a more stable surface, we were able to sand the floorboards. The treads on the steps were uneven so we had to correct this. After sanding, we painted the risers white and lacquered the stained floors.

The results

The house looks a lot less like a building site and more of an inhabitable home. The floors will need some care and attention over time, but should remain at a high quality. The stairs look a lot more presentable, with the painted risers offering a contrast to the stained treads.
