What was the job?
A property in Finsbury Park needed maintenance and sanding work on its pine wood floors. Work was also needed on the staircase, which the owner wanted painting after the sanding work was complete.Challenges
Some of the flooring was covered by carpet, so the floor underneath was untreated and discoloured. Sanding stairs requires more care for workers as there is less surface area to stand on.Areas:
Dressing room – 3.77 m3 – Pine floor boards
1st ½ landing – 1.99 m2
1st flight of stairs – 9 No. (treads & risers)
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We uplifted and disposed of any carpet from the working areas before we could treat the pine wood floors. Minor repair work was the carried out before sanding.
Resin was used to fill gaps and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the floor before the four coats of lacquer were applied.
The customer requested that the stairs only be painted white on the sides rather than fully covered.
