What was the job?
Crouch End is an area of London within the borough of Haringey. A residential property needed sanding work as the owner was removing the vinyl flooring.Challenges
We were unaware of the extent of damage, or if there was any, due to the surface being covered before we began.
There were several small obstacles which would have provided further problems if we hit them. For example, the fittings for the radiator were small and awkward but had to be sanded around.
Area: Hall- 11 m2
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We lifted both carpet and vinyl from the wood and disposed of them before beginning to sand. The dust free process was completed by buffing and vacuuming, to be completely sure there was no residue or debris left behind.
Gaps were cosmetically filled with our slivers and resin mix before we added one coat of light oak stain.
The work was completed with four coats of clear heavy duty lacquer.
The results
The floor was not too damaged so the repair was simple and effective. We successfully manoeuvred around small obstacles and the floor looks as though it has been recently fitted. The stain suits the hallway as the colour is similar to the banister and wood panels down the side of the stairs. After we finished the job
