What was the job?
The parquet floors of a home in Datchet, Berkshire, had become worn and damaged after not being maintained properly. Mr Sander® team were called in to
restore the parquet flooring.
Challenges
The property was undergoing renovation and the walls around the working areas were not finished. Pipes and brickwork were exposed, meaning we had to be extra careful to avoid causing more expenses for the home.
Several areas were loose and parquet blocks had to be replaced.
How the floor looked before we started work

What we did
As the house was a mess prior to beginning work, we had to create a suitable working area to stay safe and work efficiently.
We supplied and fitted new blocks in places where the renovation work had damaged them or they had become naturally loose.
When everything was clear and level, we were able to begin sanding. After vacuuming away any leftover dust, we applied lacquer to preserve the quality.
During the floor restoration
The results
With a maintained and attractive floor, the owner will have to take extra care with the rest of their DIY so they do not damage the newly repaired floors 🙂
With years added on to the lifespan of the floor, the property will have a higher resale value should the owners wish to sell it on after completing the work and it looks massively improved.
With over 30 years of experience and 25,000+ floors restored, the Mr Sander® team shares expert tips on wooden floor care, sanding, and restoration. Trusted across the UK, we help homeowners and businesses bring lasting beauty, durability, and warmth to every wooden surface we touch.
