A home-owner in Dorking, Surrey, wanted to ensure the floor of their bathroom was more fit for purpose.
The floors were not prepared to cope with the levels of water that are standard for that room. This work involved was not the standard sanding and lacquering.
Challenges
Fittings in bathrooms are not as simple to work around as furniture because they are plumbed in. Even if they are moved, there are fixtures left behind to work around.
The floor needed to be repaired before it could cope with water and there were several gaps to fill before applying the paint requested by the company.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We filled gaps and more sizeable holes so the finished product was not be uneven and more open to water damage.
When the floor was smooth and sanded, we used three layers of white semi-gloss floor paint.
During the floor restoration
The results
The paint is resilient to water and the white suits the room better than sanded and lacquered wood.
