Floor Sanding Blogs

What was the job?
The Battleship Building is a commercial property in London which was once used as a maintenance depot for British Rail. Now it’s home to numerous offices and we were called in to repair and sand the oak floor in one of the reception areas. Square metres –3rd floor – Virgin reception area – 123.2 m2
Time taken –
3 daysParquet flooring restoration requires a level of expertise as it is a different process to sanding regular floorboards.
We could not overrun the allotted time as the building is used for numerous businesses and a delay could have a detrimental impact on the running of the property.
We sanded the floor using our 3 stage process with dust free machines to prevent it spreading to other work areas in the building.
To clear up any excess, the floor was buffed and vacuumed before we applied 4 coats of heavy duty lacquer.
The reception area looks more professional now and the floor has been returned to a great finish.
The lacquer we applied is designed to cope with heavy foot traffic and will leave the floor resilient for years.
