What was the job?
We were required to do some floor sanding in Barnet in a residential property that was in need of maintenance. Some floorboards had become damaged and the surface has become worn over time. Square metres –Kitchen – 8.4 m2
Time taken – 1 day
Challenges
Several floorboards were damaged and needed to be replaced before the surface could be sanded
.As this was a residential property, we had to be efficient to avoid interrupting daily life and cause as little mess as possible.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We supplied and fitted new floorboards to replace those with holes or cracks. Any loose floorboards were also nailed down before sanding began.
Sanding was completed using a three stage process with dust-free machines and filling gaps with a mixture of slivers and resin
.Before we applied three coats of heavy duty lacquer, we buffed and vacuumed the floors to remove any excess dust.
The results
The floor is now one even surface with no visible damage and it is generally more aesthetically pleasing.
Our work has given a new lease of life to the floor and the room.
