Floor Sanding Blogs

The wood flooring throughout the Embassy of Croatia on Conway Street in London was in great need of renovation.
In many areas it was badly worn and scratched, and marking and staining had occurred in several places. Our job was to bring the floors back to a level consistent with an embassy building.
An embassy building is to some extent a representation of its country, so the Croatian Embassy was a job with a very high benchmark.
It was also challenging working on a sizeable floor sanding and restoring job in a functioning national embassy.
It meant we had a rigid deadline and strict schedule in order to get the work done properly without running over our allotted time.
We also worked with parquet flooring restoration at this embassy, which requires expertise to return to a great finish.
We sanded the damaged and worn wood floors to return them to a good natural state.
This was a long process using a selection of sanding machines, using rougher to finer grit, to get a smooth, level surface.
We then coated the wood flooring throughout the embassy with several layers of a light, natural finish.
After the finish we thoroughly polished the floors to create the sheen that these floors deserved.
The sanding and restoration at the Embassy of Croatia went very well and we were able to get rid of all signs of wear and tear.
We were also able to remove the stains, marks and scratches that spoiled the great quality wood floors that are laid throughout the rooms we worked in.
After finishing we and the clients were pleased to see the lovely wood floors and parquet floors restored to their former glory, again up to the desired standard for such an important property.
