Floor Sanding Blogs
What was the job?
We travelled to Redhill, Surrey, for some floors which had suffered from neglect.
Challenges
The floors were hidden by carpets so we could not be sure as to the full extent of the damage upon arrival.
When the floorboards were exposed, we realised some needed to be replaced, which would take more time.
Areas:
Living room- 15.2 m2
Study room: 5.6 m2
Time taken:
2 days

What we did
After removing the carpets, we replaced one linear metre of floorboards. After ensuring the surface was level and secure, we were able to begin sanding. Gaps were filled with a resin and sawdust mix before we buffed and vacuumed away any excess.
With a clear floor, we finished with a layer of base primer and four layers of lacquer.

The results
Without carpet, the owners will be able to properly care for their wood floors.
With sanding and lacquer instead of paint, the wood is at a higher quality.
