What was the job?
A home in Brockley, Lewisham, needed repair and sanding work for its floors after they had been neglected for an extended period of time.
Challenges
Gaps had formed between the boards and there were holes which needed to be filled before sanding.
Even where there weren’t significant gaps, boards had become loose and needed to be nailed down securely.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We secured all loose floorboards and replaced those which were too damaged to sand. When there were no gaps or holes presenting the risk of damage to the machines, we sanded, buffed and vacuumed the surfaces.
We were careful to stop the machines sanding the tile hearth and stay strictly to the allotted working areas.
With a level floor, we then applied lacquer in order to preserve the finish.
During the floor restoration
The results
After our work, the home is more presentable as a whole. It is the duty of the owner to care for the floor in order to avoid needing sanding work relatively often.
We successfully steered clear of causing any damage to the house and the sanded wood has increased the property’s value.
