What was the job?

We went to Harrow to repair and sand floors in a residential property.

Challenges

Floorboards needed to be replaced before they damaged the machines or created an uneven job. Replacing wood delays work and has to be sanded to match the existing boards. Areas:

Kitchen- 7.6 m2 (Pine floorboards – 14 cm / 1.8 cm)

What we did 

We supplied and installed six linear metres of reclaimed boards, with one of the major repair areas being under the kitchen unit leg.

When all boards were level, we began the three stage sanding process and filled gaps with a slivers and resin mix. The work was finished with four coats of clear lacquer.

The results

With no damaged boards or gaps, the floor is safer, stronger and easier to maintain. Provided the owners maintain a care routine, the lifespan of the floor should be extended by several years.
